I chose to explore (and join for free) the skydrive site. This location furnishes a Web storage service and you can get up to 25GB of storage space for your files and pics. Another neat feature is that you can set up groups so that others (i.e. your students) can enter and access shared documents, such as homework. This will have useful application to high school science classes.
This site also furnishes a group email address so you can stay in touch. One other functionality is the shared calendar that you can use to track assignments. When you join skydrive you also set up a hotmail account.
